Had a mixed weekend. Discomfort from fluid build up was pretty bad (had paracentesis today and they got 3.5 liters out) but had Amy Beth & Ellen from Chicago and Tanya from Denver (staying with other, local friends) and it was great to see them and have them make such delicious food each night.
Today, at least now - post drainage, I'm feeling a lot better and actually eating an apple as I type (the trick is to cut it up).
I've been having a lot of trouble regulating my body temp and I am so sweaty that I decided to shave off my hair so that it will dry faster and be more comfortable. I'll post pics soon but most have seen me without hair before so it isn't that much different. I'm told the chemo will cause it to fall out anyway so this is just a little preemptive strike.
Again, it's always nice to read your comments so keep them coming!
glad to hear you had such fantastic company this weekend and that you were able to enjoy some of it!
ReplyDeleteGood for you for losing your hair on your own terms! you know, Raegan and I have been lamenting the length of our hair - maybe we should shave our heads in solidarity! What do you think, does my scalp seem like it's the "bald" type??
i'm going to swing by after dog training tomorrow to drop off some compost - i'll look for you to see if you're up and about.
sending love your way! Melis
I had a feeling you'd shave your head and beat the fallout to the punch. This reminded me of when Amy and I shaved your head for you. I was so worried we'd cut your scalp all up, but I think we did a pretty good job! You rock the shaved head!
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear you've got a bit of an appetite now that you're not being crushed by liters of fluid!! I can't imagine how uncomfortable that must be.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure you know, but my mom is really eager to make some bread pudding for you, so when you think you have an appetite for it let me know. It's a pretty big deal cuz she usually only makes it for her favorite child... my brother Michael. :) hahaha!
I hope you were able to enjoy the treat I left behind!!
Love and kisses!
